The Inspiration Behind the Story
Why did I make this book
As an adventurous family, the outdoors has always been a huge part of our lives. My children have been joining me on wild camping for kids and nature adventures since they were just three years old, yet I struggled to find a children's adventure book that reflected the experiences we were sharing together. So, I decided to create one for us.
Inspired by our own adventures, I wrote and illustrated Little Suzie: Adventures with Mum to capture the wonder, excitement, and life lessons that can be found in the natural world. As the story developed, I realized it could help other families too, so I included practical tips and advice to help both children and adults plan, prepare for, and safely enjoy their own wild camps and outdoor exploration book experiences.
My hope is that this book reaches adventurous souls of all ages, inspiring families to explore, learn, dream, and create lasting memories together in the great outdoors.
